East Yorkshire introduces special summer timetables to aid service reliability
Local bus company, East Yorkshire, is introducing special summer timetables to help improve service across its network.
From 11 July, the bus company will be introducing special summer timetables to weekday and Saturday buses on Services 54, 56 and 57. This is to reflect lower passenger demand in the summer months and to help improve service across the network.
Customers who wish to travel from Hull to Willerby Square on the Service 54 can do so approximately every 30 minutes on weekdays and Saturdays. Those who wish to travel from Wymersley Road and Hessle to East Hull on the Service 56 or 57 can do so every 30 minutes. Additionally, bus-goers will be able to travel from Hull City Centre to ASDA Bilton up to every 15 minutes for most of the day.
This announcement follows the company's apology posted to their social media accounts on Wednesday 6 July.
East Yorkshire's Area Director, Ben Gilligan, says -
Alongside many other businesses across both the region and the rest of the UK, the challenging labour market has made recruitment of staff a more difficult process than it was before COVID-19.
Despite this, our team has increased its efforts to fill vacancies and have changed our processes to build a stronger position going forwards.
Many bus companies across the country have had similar experiences to us, and now our overriding priority is to build back a more reliable service.
I'd like to offer my apologies to our customers and colleagues and my thanks for bearing with us whilst we remedy this, as well as for respecting our front-line team.
