East Yorkshire get a little greener

Local bus operator, East Yorkshire, has welcomed 8 new vehicles to its fleet as part of its investment to bring state of the art, environmentally friendly buses to the community.

The addition includes 6 vehicles that will be hitting the roads of the region as part of East Yorkshire’s main fleet. This is as well as a double decker coach and a traditional single decker coach.

Those who hop on one of the new service buses can expect state of the art technology complete with -

• Wi-Fi
• USB charging slots
• next stop announcements
• luxury interiors

allowing them to make the most of their time on the bus. Customers who are lucky enough to be heading off around the UK in either of East Yorkshire Coaches’ new additions will also be provided luxury interiors and WiFi.

The move marks a considerable improvement in the environmental impact, replacing some of the older vehicles in the fleet with new Euro VI engines. They produce 95% less nitrogen oxides than their predecessor, Euro V.

Robert Gibson, East Yorkshire’s Chief Engineer, had this to say -

We’re very pleased to see the introduction of 8 new vehicles to our fleet. As a public transport company, we’re already helping the environment by reducing traffic congestion and improving air quality and upgrading these buses will assist us in reach our ambitious climate change goals, as well as helping make the environment a little cleaner, and a little greener.
