Hull City Council has extended the contract for 6 supported bus services in the city for a further 2 years, until March 2026.

Funded through the council’s budget and an allocation of bus service improvement plan (BSIP) grant funding from the Department for Transport, Stagecoach East Midlands will continue to provide services on six routes in the city, 6 days-a-week, to -

  • Mizzen Road
  • Broadway Drive
  • Sibelius Road
  • Grammar School Road
  • James Reckitt Avenue
  • Kestrel Avenue.

The service to Broadway Drive will include a minor route change to now include Lambwath Road and the service frequency to Grammar School Road - 5 services between 9.30am to 3.30pm - and James Reckitt Avenue - 11 services between 7am to 6pm - will be maintained.

Councillor Mark Ieronimo, cabinet portfolio holder for transportation, roads and highways at Hull City Council, said -

“Bus travel plays an important role in many of our residents’ day-to-day lives, with many people using services to commute, for education or for leisure. The supported bus services are a proactive way of helping to reduce social isolation in certain areas of the city and as a way of encouraging more people to consider a more sustainable transport option, so we are delighted to continue to fund these services for a further two years and to maintain the level of frequency that our residents require.”

Matt Cranwell, managing director at Stagecoach, said -

“Financially supported bus services are a crucial part of the Hull bus network, providing communities with socially necessary and easy-to-use local transportation links. We are delighted to partner Hull City Council in continuing to deliver these essential supported services, which complement the commercially provided main bus network.”
