Hull City Council has been made aware of a scam involving fraudulent Hull Travel Cards being offered on social media platforms.

These travel cards are being promoted as legitimate offers, but they are designed to deceive and defraud individuals.  

The council urges all residents to stay vigilant and exercise caution when encountering travel card offers online.  

To stay safe, it is crucial to verify the authenticity of any travel card offer before making any transactions.  

If you come across any suspicious posts related to the travel card offers on social media, report them to the respective social media platform.  

Councillor Mark Ieronimo, cabinet portfolio holder for transportation, roads and highways at Hull City Council, said: “We are deeply concerned about the recent reports of scam travel cards circulating on social media platforms. 

“We urge residents to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity.  

“The safety and well-being of our communities remains our top priority, and we will continue to work tirelessly to protect residents from such fraudulent schemes.”
