Councillor Mark Ieronimo, cabinet portfolio holder for transportation, roads and highways at Hull City Council, said: “We are constantly striving to deliver the type of bus services that our residents, and visitors to the city, need and expect.

“Enhancing bus services to make them more punctual, more reliable and more frequent helps make taking the bus a more attractive option for customers, which in turn makes it easier to make more sustainable travel choices.

“The council welcomes these service changes, as they will help deliver on several objectives within our community plan, including safe and inclusive neighbourhoods, a healthier and fairer Hull and by supporting the city’s response to the climate emergency – all of which have been identified as important priorities through listening to feedback from our residents and our communities.”

Matt Cranwell, managing director at Stagecoach East Midlands, said: “These service improvements mark a significant step forward in our commitment to delivering a better travel experience for our passengers in Hull.

“With increased frequencies and extended routes, we are addressing the growing needs of the community and ensuring our services are both reliable and accessible.

“Thanks to the support from Hull County Council, these enhancements will provide greater convenience for residents and improve connectivity across the city."

Ben Gilligan, managing director of East Yorkshire Buses, said: “We are pleased to be able to continue to improve the service for our customers and we have been focused on improving the reliability of our network through timetables that are more reflective of the traffic levels on the road which impacts the performance of our routes.”
